A retired couple was killed by a black bear last week at a fishing camp in northern Saskatchewan. They were not found together, signifing to the Fish & Wildlife officers that the bear was probobly a rouge, not a sow with cubs. The bear was identified and euthanized. There were a rather large number of bears in the area. When the bear population gets rather dense, the boars will hunt down young cubs. That’s when you have to use extreme care when in the same area.

Your club had a table at the Trappers Jamborie last weekend and we sold a fair number of raffle tickets. We are about a third sold. Keep up the good work guys.

Your range is in pretty good shape considering all the rain we had lately. Remember to try to sight in your rifles early and avoid the last minute rush, that includes myself. Have fun and try not to feed to many mosquitoes.—-Joe
