A small crew and a good helper were at work bringing your range to PROVINCIAL SAFETY STANDARDS. We will be putting up a number of safety signs around the three gun ranges. The main work is being done at the 300 yard bench. The safety barrier, (ricochet prevention) was installed at the reactive target culvert on the rifle range. PLEASE DO NOT USE THE BARRIER at the culvert to hang up your targets. You are being monitored on the range and that is a good way to loose your membership. Lets keep it nice as the inspectors were impressed with the condition of the range. The province made an announcement last week about GRIZZLY BEARS are moving further east onto prairie land as the bear numbers keep increasing. The problem is getting out of hand in ranch country in southern Alberta and is general as you go north. FORT ASSISNIBOINE has a number of reports and a sow and cubs were spotted in Neerlandia country. Fish & Wildlife take out 3 to 5 problem grizzly bears every year according to the latest report. BLACK BEARS are another problem as they are grizzly lunch and have been causing problems in farm country. I have reports of black bears causing trouble from Barrhead to Onoway.. Time to get a good dog and keep the old .303 ready for defensive action.
If you have to sight in your rifle, now is the time . Good luck, straight shooting , have fun—-Joe
