BILL 10, CERVID HARVEST(HUNT FARMS)

The government is looking into allowing the expansion of cervid farms of deer and Elk. NOTE; This improves the viability of Alberta’s domestic cervid (elk and deer) industries by allowing producers to establish harvest preserves, also known as hunt farms. The report also says cervid harvest will not result in the increase of CWD or other diseases. Interesting, as eastern Saskatchewan is now having issues with CWD and TB which has spread into the wild. ALBERTA WILDLIFE FEDERATION has been against this proposal, but to little avail.
