Our annual scoring day went well with a large number of White Tail deer entries. Our new format keeping the measurers separate really helped in time and accuracy. To clear up a point, ALL the members and guest scorers were trained by Boone & Crocket instructors and we use the Boone & Crocket sheets to get the final score on your trophy. Our measurers do the antlered animals as well as predators. We only measure the trophies once. If there is an issue with the score, we will discuss it and try to help at the event, NOT a year later. We will measure for the general public, free of charge, and members for our local competition. For the archers, we offer the Pope & Young measuring for serious competition. If you need clarification on what to do with your entry, call us and we will help you go in the right direction.
The largest typical White tail was harvested in 1993 in Saskatchewan. The record 213 5/8 still stands. Rack width was over 29 inches. A target to shoot for.
Next meeting has be set for TUESDAY, February 24. Winter is coming back, keep warm—-Joe
