The Barrhead Fish & Game Association is associated with the Alberta Wildlife Federation, but is a standalone club. We were incorporated in 1969. Part of your membership fee goes towards the Alberta Wildlife Federation, which gives us a large voice when dealing with government policy as well as helping with range and membership insurance. As a member, you are covered with accident insurance which is good on and off the range.
FEES
We work on an annual basis covering the full year. The following are the membership fees for 2025:
SINGLE MEMBERS: $105
FAMILY MEMBERS: $125 — Family members covered are the member, partner, and children up to the age of 18.
YOUTH MEMBERS (age 12 – 18): $10
CLUB MEETINGS
The club meets on the last Wednesday of every month starting again in September. Our meetings are held at 7:00 PM at the Godberson room located next to the swimming pool in Barrhead.
BENEFITS
Range Access: A MEMBERS ONLY RANGE. FAMILY MEMBERSHIPS cover all members that listed on the application form and grant them access to the gun range. The gate is padlocked and members buy a key with their membership for $20 plus a $10 key return deposit. A set of range rules are given with every key purchase. A MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL PACKET is mailed out to every member in December. Memberships can be purchased locally at Kodiak Lake Hunting and Fishing, Neerlandia Co-op, and Sunnyside Realty in Barrhead.
Guest policy: A special one time waiver is offered to a guest who would like to participate in a club activity. The guest is sponsored by a member and must keep the waiver on their person at all times while on the range. Afterwards, the waiver is then returned and filed.
EVERY MEMBER IS COVERED BY OUR INSURANCE PLAN, WHICH IS REQUIRED TO OPERATE THE RANGE FACILITY.
